Yay, Alyx! More Alyx is always good, and probably means more Dog, also good. But is the main character Gordan again, or Barney, or a new character, etc...

I believe it is set just after the ending in HL2, meaning, I assume, City 17 survives what looked like a nuke going off. It seems the Combine forces are in disarray, losing their commander and the Citadel that held all their real resources. It's likely a clean up operation, mopping up any Combine forces left around as either Alyx or a Resistance fighter.

Needs more screenshots of Alyx's underwear.

Oh, really Spanky...

Though maybe that will be a bonus, though this isn't a hentai game.

I could do with them making models of the Combine troops like Metrocops and so on and the Synths like the Strider and Gunship.

Actually, was more referencing back when people went more or less bonkers after finding out that you could see a tiny bit of Alex's panties peaking out from the back of her jeans.

Meh, even when the world has been enslaved, girls still wear their underwear high like that.

Still, looks like we may be seeing more of her and her pet. Nice they weren't vaporised and all.

She wears a purple thong. Hawt.

I wonder if this will answer what happened to Breen and whatnot. You just know there's going to be another cliffhanger at the end to pave the way for HL3. :D

Um, they died? Isn't that was this add-on is about: the Post-Combine chaos?

Not so sure, actually. I looked down the tube that Breen was rising up in- the force-shield sphere he was in was still active, and he drifted down to the bottom slowly. It's probable that he could have survived- however, no doubt the Combine on Earth, now being seperated from their own dimension (the ones in City 17, at least) most likely aren't taking marching orders from him anymore.

Hmm, maybe at some point you'll have to team up with him.

And I don't think (and I actually hope) that this doesn't lead into HL3. More than likely you'll be just dropped into the third game like you were in the first two. Just defrost and deploy.

Y'know, the positioning of the Combine troops in that first screenshot give me the impression that they aren't hostile to Alyx. Not particularly strong evidence, but it would be interesting to fight alongside defecting Overwatch troops.

It could be that some turn against the original force and help you, there is one shot where you're using one of the sniper rifles, though you could've simplystolen it as normal.

Assuming Breen is still around, I doubt Gordon et al would team up with the traitor anyway. I also expect HL3 to be another adventure, this seems like your first true mission for the G-Man, so given the results (hurting the Combine garrison on Earth), you may be used elsewhere by his employers, maybe not even on Earth, though I'd like to see how the future turns out. Remember, there's still a lot of Xen wildlife and environmental problems that the Combine and Portal Storms brought with them.

If you are playing as Gordon, then no doubt this will factor into Half-Life 3. None of the previous expansions focused on the same character as the main game, they were optional side-stories that revealed more about the incident (and in Blue Shift's case, gave a distinct personality to a previously stock character).

I think Gordon's moved off already. The G-Man seems to have been happy with the results and put Gordon in stasis again or moved him on. The expansion will most likely follow the previous trend.

"The continuation of Gordon Freeman's adventures," means that he is somewhere in the game. There is no way he could be in stasis if they say he will have new adventures in the expansion.

it could be the continuation of his adventures by other people, no?

I personally want to know what happened to Cpl Shepard, the player character in opposing force. Maybe you find out in this game? Or maybe you *are* him, eh?

Chances are, you're not Gordon. The ending just indicates that, why else would the G-Man pack you away?

My money's on either you as a random resistance fighter, or perhaps Barney.

Everything I've heard has pointed towards playing as Gordon.

It seems like something he'd do though, doesn't it? Make you feel like you've lost it all, and you're REALLY PISSED- and then he pops you back in, safe and sound with Alyx, and says something about how he was just demonstrating that we = his.

As Gordon appears exactly in the same place, he hears the familiar voice of the G-Man.
"Haha, I was just messing with ya buddy!"

Um... no, that'd suck.

That's impossible. Under no circumstance can Gordon ever speak. It's like one of the rules. :P

I think he means the G-Man says that.

What happened to Sheppard? I demand to know.
