How do I clean a monitor? I sneezed, and got some droplets on it, but I cleaned it up, still want to make sure. Would a slightly moist tissue help?

Ideally, a really soft cloth (if you get a cheapo CD cleaning kit these often come with a useful one). It's better than a tissue, cause it won't leave bits, and it's less coarse.

Dampen it, and then squeeze all of the liquid out, so it's only just damp. That way it will pick up anything that's on the surface and not leave residue behind. (this is fairly good for a lot of delicate surfaces)

Not so much because it will damage the monitor, but because a streaky monitor is even more annoying than one with snot on.

NO! No tissue! Don't use any paper-based material to clean it. E.g., tissue is bad. Use cotton instead. (Find a shirt that is 100% cotton and use that?) Anything with paper content tends to leave scratches.

You can buy little kits made to clean monitors, but mostly they aren't worth it. If it's a standard tube CRT you can just clean it with window cleaning solution (comes in a spray bottle usually) and a cotton cloth.

If it's an LCD you want to stay far, far away from those cleaning products, as they may contain chemicals that damage the surface of the LCD screen. My advice is to get a cloth designed for cleaning glasses--not glass glasses, but those new polycarbonate glasses. They scratch a lot easier than glass, so the clothes to clean them must be better. Use one those on your monitor.

Would simple cotten work? Because i'm not sure I have that cloth(stupid me not keeping the glasses box)

Ah, another reason I love my CRT.

What, do you mean loose cotton picked right out of the field? I don't know, my only experience with cotton is in cloth form.

Everything I've heard says to use a cotton cloth or a special LCD cleaning cloth. Oh, and you can use some diluted isopropyl alcohol on the cloth, but don't use anything with ammonia.
