Wireless LANs and encryption...do they want us to be open?

Post by MKSheppard »

I've been having problems with this new Linksys wireless router; oh it
works fine with WEP 64 bit encryption turned on with other linksys cards,
but when you try to connect to the network, with say a PSP or a HP laptop,
even if you put in the correct WEP key, it connects very slowly or does not
connect at all.

Do these fucksticks in charge of developing WEP and the like WANT us to
go without encryption?

Update firmware.

WEP won't slow your connection down. 64bit is laughable security anyway: you could break it yourself without problems. It *could* be Linksys being gay about other manufacturers, but I doubt it. Just flash the router and it should be fine.
