Wait for Dual-cores before upgrading?

Just idly wondering, since I'm going to be upgrading within a few months to an A64 3500+ venice, whether to just wait for the new AMD dual cores to come out. Will a dual core cpu give any significant advantages for gaming over a single core?

For any SINGLE task? no.

If you do anything together, such as gaming while browsing the net\Zipping stuff\AV scans, duel core is so much better its not even funny.

Hmm, how much does a multi-core cost compared to a single core of the same variety (i.e, 3500+ venice, if I'm understanding it correctly)

ALOT more.

Duel core AMD's are currently only high end(which barely fits the 3500+).

Looking at another 250$ at the lowest level.
