PSUs

Ok, after some digging around, I may not have to upgrade my entire PC after all... if what I read is true, my crashes may be due to a low quality power supply (RAIDMAX 350W)
So I'm looking for a new PSU, and I think I have it narrowed down to an OCZ and a SeaSonic.
points:
1.SeaSonic is on AMD's recommended PSU list and OCZ isn't.
1a. AMD hasn't updated their list in quite some time, or so I'm told.
2. I know OCZ makes good RAM, but does that mean they can manufacture a good PSU? Or do they even manufacture it, but rather slap their name on someone else's PSU?
Any recommendations or other brands/things I should consider?
Oh, and what exactly is the difference between an ATX and ATX12v power supply?
