Why is it that when I start up Bitorret, my firewall starts wigging out? To be specific when I'm normaly running around on the Internet, I get maybe half a dozen scans during an hour, while when running Bitorrent, I'm normaly getting between a hundred to five hundred every thirty minutes.

Your Torrent client advertises itself to the whole BitTorrent network as an available node, by your IP address, and all the other nodes start making inbound connections to your client, if they can. If your firewall is blocking the port the other clients are trying to use (usually between tcp 6881 and 6889) then your firewall will make noise about it.

Multiple ports open when youre using BitTorrent, the Firewall wants to keep ane “eye” on them all, it can mistake it for spyware\virus.

Can't you just make an advanced rule for your firewall to ignore all bittorrent ports ?

Sygate can do this, what firewall do you use ?
