Everyone, never ever buy an Envision monitor. I got one in oh 2001, a
19" Envision EN 980, and it was a piece of shit from day one, it somehow
hurt my eyes even at high refresh rates; and recently, it began to go all
white, I spent a lot of time whacking it to "fix" it. Finally, after too many
whackings, I decided to say "feck it" and get a new monitor; I'm typing
this on my new LG Flatron L1750S LCD monitor

Did anyone else read that as "My monitor began to go all white after too many whackings"?

Hitting the side of the monitor solves a LOT of issues with CRTs; from the
Tandy days to today...

'Grats for the new monitor!
If you haven't made the investment necessary to hook your boxen up with 2 monitors, might I take the opportunity to suggest you do so? I upgraded to a vidcard that could support two monitors about 6 months ago, but until recently I didn't have the desktop space to fit both of the monitors I owned.
Then I did! and I can't look back. It's actually become a problem at work; it's hard to adjust. I won't bore you with the details because I'm a good person at heart, but you're of course willing to invite abuse by PMing or AIMing at me.
I'm looking to buy two 17 inch flatscreens. Anyone know some "good" ones for 250$ or less per? Good is totally subjective.
More on topic, where did you get your new monitor, how much did it cost you, and would you recommend it?

I just bought my first flatscreen monitor today. Absolutely beautiful! I had this HUGE CRT monitor since 2001, but with my new flatscreen, I actually have room on my desk for my scanner! I can finally throw away the broken chair that my scanner has been living on for a year!
