Has anyone here have problems playing Victoria, with the game being very sluggish and even jerky? They addressed the problem at their forum but it doesn't seem to help me. My computer has an Athlon XP 2400, 1GB of RAM and a 128MB Radeon 9200 video card, but the game still runs slow. When I bought the game my computer only had 256MG of RAM and when the game became sluggish, I upgraded the RAM to 512MB. Unfortunately it made no difference and I recently doubled the RAM and still no difference.
Anyone had this problem? Did you manage to fix it? If so, how?

That's odd. Even back when I was playing it on a Pentium II 350Mhz I had no problems. Did you patch it fully?

Maybe you have something else resource heavy running in the backround. Try checking into that. I know that playing a movie file or using BitTorrent will lag EU II and HOI II for me, so that could be it.

Nope. No difference. I tried removing everything unecessary and it didn't speed up the game. Mind you this only happens with this game. Any other game I do not have this lag.

That's bizarre. Go ask some of the techies on the Paradox Tech Support Forum, see if they can help you.
EDIT: Uh, this may seem a little stupid, but did you check to see if the gamespeed was set to "very slow"?

It's been set at "very fast". But the sluggishness stops when I pause the game.

Sounds like a job for the people who made the game. It's probably got something to do with graphics cards. It always is the graphics cards when any game lags. IMX, at least.
Like he said, check Tech Support if you haven't already.

I am going to try and uninstall and reinstall the game and see if it works.

UPDATE: I've uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it. So far everything is well but it seems to be a wee bit slow but not sluggish.
