Best video player for Windows?

What Windows video player do you prefer? I don't like Windows Media Player, I dislike the way Divx Player only plays Divx files, QuickTime player doesn't want to go full screen for some reason, and I'm looking for something better.

It needs to be able to play MPEG and Divx AVI files, as well as OGM and Matroska Video. What do you use?

Perhaps the Klite mega codec pack ? It has the codecs you want and includes MPC. You can find it at Klitetools.

I use MPlayer for windows. Yeah, it's basic. no GUI, but it does its job perfectly.

I use VLC currently, but I intend to get my greedy mits on BSPlayer as soon as I can.

I'd agree.

VLC and Media Player Classic. VLC for uncommon formats and MPC because it plays better and it's easier to use.

I'm loving BSplayer; it starts up instantly and has nice controls.

I downloaded Mplayer and a bunch of codecs, and it's working fine. Thanks, everyone!

I generally use MPC with ffdshow and the DirectShow OGG wrapper.

I like THE CORE. not only is its name shared by a horrible movie, it works well for watching series given its easy and functional playlist feature.

The main feature I appreciate is that I don't need to install a whole bunch of codecs (and avoiding all the conflicts that came with that). Now I only have MPlayer with the extra codecs package, Quick Time for MOV files and Media Player with the latest DivX for those rare movies that give trouble to MPlayer.

Hm... never had problems w/ MPlayer not playing anything except some Real stuff, which I have Realplayer for (the Linux version does not suck).

There were some DivX movies I had this problem with, but, as I said, there were exceptions.

Just wanted some help.
I have some video files on my com that uses a different variety of codecs, running from Ogg to Vdo and etc. So, which of the above player with a single codec package can run such a variety of movies efficiently? My carefully calibrated WMP now sucksballs after my reinstall and so......... sigh.

Which would be better? Media Player Classic or Core?

Windows Media Player 10, + xvid & ac3filter codecs.

Zoomplayer and VLC are both nice alternatives to WMP. I tend to use each, as it is. Since both of them let me play nearly every format in existence.

This is probably a good place to ask; what do I need to play mp4s? I know I tried downloading 3ivx, but I still can't play "The Power of Nightmares" in Winamp, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Quicktime, or Divx Player.

Try using ZoomPlayer or VideoLan.

VLC freezes. ZoomPlayer gave me an iteration of "error cannot play file missing or corrupt or suck my dick."

EDIT: GAAAHHHH!!! I feel so stupid! The download failed! It says its 3 kb!
EDIT2: I mean the media file I was trying to play, not the player. Sorry for wasting your time.

. . .the media file you were trying to play was 3kbs? Erm. . . .Are you sure that's the actual media file and not something like an m3u tag?

I use mostly Winamp, though I find it performs a bit weird when trying to skip through big movie files.
