You can find it
Here.
It comes with 2 historical battles as well as a superficially updated tutorial where the Julii and Senate factions are subsituted with the Western and Eastern Roman empires respectively.
Overall, the demo is a little buggy but despite that the expansion isn't too much different from the original. Just new units along with some more refined gameplay. Sticklers for absolute historical accuracy may get annoyed at a few things though. I'm not one of them so I'm definitely looking forward to the full game to see what the new campaign is going to be like.

Wagon-mounted ballistas serving as mobile artillery? It's a good thing my knowledge of ancient history is so rudimentary.

It seems to me that the Total War games are basically good in terms of historicalism and realism, even though there are errors here and there, but the expansions seem to take huge liberties with both. Consider Shogun: TW, very realistic, but then the expansion added the Sword Saint, a single troop capable of taking on whole 80 unit stacks and winning, and other such nonsense. Now this expansion with its uber-berzerkers knocking 10 guys into the air.

Admit it. Those units will be really cool once you have them on
your side rather than the computer's side. I played it once to give it a whirl (the second battle, as the Huns) and I completely forgot about those guys because I was busy looking at character animations and following certain units around the field. Then I noticed that they were blasting the living shit out of my infantry formations, and that I had taken enough losses for victory to be seriously in doubt. I ended up just narrowly squeaking by with a victory. What a catastrophe ...

The first chance I get, I'll raise an army of them and play hit-and-run with a Persian chariot army.
It's a shame there aren't going to be any Phalanx units in the expansion. At least, I assume that's the case.
