Remote Desktop and Router question concerning ports

Post by Braedley »

I have enabled Remote Desktop (generic windows version) on my computer, and I'm able to connect to my computer from my sisters computer on the same LAN as myself, however, if I try to connect by using my no-ip address, the router (a D-Link DI-704P) won't let it establish (This happens regardless of if I'm inside or out of my LAN). I know that I have to open at least one port, and have done so for things like my ftp server (which I know works).
So the question goes like this: Which port(s) do I have to open in order to get this to work properly, and are there any other settings I have to worry about (either on the client computer, my computer, or the router)?

My niece: "Yeah, from the fridge!"
