Stuck on selecting a gaming CRT

Due to the high costs of the best LCD gaming displays, I've decided to opt for a cheaper and more reliable CRT instead. Problem is, I haven't the faintest idea what the best gaming CRTs are.
I'm looking for something with good image quality, the ability to support resolutions up to at least 1900x1200, and preferably a flat-screen.
Does any have any recommendations?

For 17 inchers, if you can find one, the IBM P72 is pure gold. Mine's pushing 10 years, and its the best quality monitor I have ever seen - CRT or LCD. It has gorgeous colours, is crisp and doesn't have a single distortion. The max resolution is 1280x1024, but you're not going to be able to use anything larger on a 17 incher anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Why you'd want a higher resolution at all is beyond me, to be honest.

1900x1200 is a widescreen resolution; you're either going to have a letterbox effect on your monitor (ICK) or you're going to have to find a big widescreen CRT, like
this one.
Big widescreen CRTs are
not cheap. And even if you do find a refurbished one for cheap, the cost of shipping an 80+ pound monitor will still ream you.
Big widescreen resolution is going to be very expensive no matter how you approach it. If you're willing to part with widescreen, there are plenty of refurbished 21" CRTs out there to be had for ~$200 (or less!) that will give you nice, high resolutions.
