You have precisely 3 hours from now to convince me to either buy SWG and it's expansion packs (I've been itching to play SW...don't know why.) Or BF2. Go.

Well, SWG sucks. On the other thand, BF2 sucks in a different way. Of course, SWG sucks more. So go for the lesser of two sucks.

To really enjoy an MMO you've got to get on the bandwagon in the first few months when things are new to everyone. SWG is both crappy and not new. Wait for a new MMO to come out and join that. In the meantime, play BF2, it's quality fighting, and hopefully will see many great mods for it (like bf1942 saw).

To get a good character in an MMORPG takes time better spent exercising, reading, or making love. It takes about 15 seconds to start killing in BF2 and how good you are is directly related to how well you can point and click.

Are you looking for an MMORPG or a SW game out of SWG? Because on both of those aspects it sucks.

I know someone who's playing SW:G and he's apparently having fun with it. Then, again, I know several people who've been playing Final Fantasy 11 for over a year and are still having fun with it.

Personally, I suggest BF2.

Don't let your hatred of EA keep you from wasting hours and hours on an M'RPG. Also, there seems to be no monthly fee to play BF2 online, which is a lovely selling point.

Chances are you don't got the time and patience to put up with an mmo, especially SWG after all of the nerfs to any possible fun aspects of the game.
I got SWG and played the free month a few months before jump to lightspeed. I don't regret it, but I am never playing that game again. The latest changes such as the combat upgrade have sealed that.

Star Wars Galaxies used to be a good game, I spent plenty of time logged in and I loved every minute. Since then it's been nerfed to hell and tons of brand new bugs and exploits have been introduced, not to mention that all the good communities seem to be disappearing rapidly from what I last saw.

As for Battlefield 2, I played this for a while on a friend's account while his PC was in ruins, and it blew me away. I'm waiting for it to come to my door as we speak.

In my opinion, I'd say buy BF2, there's not even any contest between it and SWG. It really comes down to wether you want an FPS or an MMO though.

Because it's not Star Wars. It has Star Wars characters, ships, locations, but it is not Star Wars.

I guess you could call it a politically correct version of star wars where the Galactic Civil war is more of a game then anything else.

That's my opinion of it. I formed this off playing for a year. I've since quit so it could have gotten better, but I doubt it.

Get BF2. SWG is, as my great great Grandfather used to say, teh suck.
If you like slow monotinous grinding, half implemented features, and the ususal SCE "go fuck yourself' style of customer service, then by all means get SWG. If you want to be able to play the game right out of the box without spending weeks and months of your life unlocking content that you are bored with hours after unlockig it, get BF2.
Actually, I hate you, so get SWG.

Hate EA, but play the game anyway. It's fun once you get in there.

I gotta put another vote in the "SWG sucks" column. The only consolation I have is that I got to sell my Jedi for $1700 when I got tired of it.

Yes, World of Warcraft is definatly fun, I've heard that many folks like Guild Wars, though it is an MMO of the masses, so be warned!

Wait for Star Wars Battlefront 2 to come out and then you have the best of both worlds.

I hate MMO's in general, and BF2 Sucks ass. I'm running a GeForce 4600, but my brother is running a Geforce 6800. I was going to upgrade so I could play it with him, as I had already purchased it, but then I tried it out on his comp, and realized that it wasn't worth my money to upgrade. So I will still upgrade because haing fast hardware si cool, but nonetheless, I won't be upgrading it for Battlefield 2.

Funniest part of WoW, Chardock here has it already.

As for the two choices BF2 is better. I don't care for the game, but the nerfs and piss poor management that makes Blizzard look like saints has pretty much destroyed much of SWG.
