Firefox and Quicktime

Well, I'm having some problems with Quicktime here. I'm using Firefox, v.1.06, and I've installed Quicktime almost everytime it said I didn't have it at first, but I'm just getting pissed now. I have it installed, I see the ugly icon in the taskbar everytime I start up...but Firefox says I need to install this "missing plugin." Any help? Is this just me, or is it a little more widespread:?:

I have the latest version, everythings up to date.
Another minor issue: how would I uninstall some of the searches in the search bar? I want to get rid of Google and Wikipedia and just get the one combo one they have now, and i sure as hell don't want dictionary.com, Yahoo, CDDB, Amazon, CC, eBay, and IMDB...Ideas?

Look in your QuickTime directory for a file that starts with np and ends in .dll; copy that file to the Firefox plugin directory.

OR you can just go to add/delete programs. They usually have the search bars as separate programs, so you can just uninstall them.

No, I meant the search plugins for Firefox, the ones in the upper right, beside the address bar.

C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/Searchplugins
Delete the ones you don't need, add the ones you want.
For Quicktime : get rid of the official version and install Quicktime Alternative. Just make sure all browser windows are closed during the install.
