Yes, actually. I'm full time student. I consider $8 a month to be steep when it's JUST TO PLAY ONLINE the same games I can play free on my PC or on the Revolution or (possibly?) PS3, and when it's stacked on top of my broadband bill, and if you want to play MMO's, you have to pay on TOP of the $8 a month?

Do the math and find out how much you will be paying for online over the console's lifespan. It's more than some of those bundles.

The other wants to charge you extra for it. It makes the fish taste much better. Other than the Seasoning the fish cost the same whomever you buy from and are of the exact same quality from the same fishery same freshness etc. Who do you buy your fish from?

I think he's talking about your confusion of the word "cheap" with "free", which are not the same thing. Generally when someone's wanting a game to be cheap, they're actually wanting to pay for it but not at insane prices. WIth the point above being consoles are generally expected to be cheaper than PCs, in case you missed it.

Spoofe, you can buy all sorts of high-quality computer games for less than $30 (I recently bought a friend KOTOR for less than $15), provided you're willing to ignore the new releases. Computer games are less expensive than console games. The other problem with those bundles (which is obvious), is that I have absolutely no interest in playing a few of the games that are included in the low-end package. Project Gotham Racing, for example, holds absolutely no appeal for me--it's not worth a cent to me, much less the money which I'd have to pay for. Bundles are only reasonable deals if you cannot purchase the components for the same price, and even then only if you are actually willing to pay something for them. I have no idea why Microsoft is showing off these bundles, really and truly, since they seem to be asking nearly what you'd pay for all of the individual components.

I don't think I want any of those bundles. None of those games really interest me, like Chardok said. I'd really like to have an extra controller with the 'charge and play' and battery packs.

He's trying to compare online console gaming on the 360 to that of the other two consoles--at least one of which does not require a subscription. As I pointed out in the last thread in which we discussed this, though, the PC is a much better purchase for a casual gamer than any of the upcoming consoles.

I'm saying that paying for a half-dozen games AT ONCE is retarded, AND the PC offers substantially better performance than any of the upcoming systems in this regard because it already has a huge library of games to choose from, whereas with the consoles you're looking at brand new games for quite some time after purchase, even accounting for their backwards compatability.

The bundle idea for me sucks, because I don't buy games. I use Gamefly. I pay $14/month and I can have 1 game out at any given time. I play that game through, then I return it for a new one.

As long as I play at least 1 new game every 3 months, it's cheaper for me to Gamefly than it is to actually buy a game (and this is especially true with games like Madden or NBA Live or something with yearly upgrades).

I'll probably just get the core system ($399), then buy games that are too long to rent (RPGs like Elder Scrolls), then gamefly everything else.

That's what I'm talking about. I can get that base system with the HDD for about what I was expecting to pay anyway, and then build my own library of games a little later on. I don't need all the garbage many of those "Bundles" come with, with the exception of XBL, which I can buy separately. But, like I said, the 'box has a lot of sentimental value to me, and commands my loyalty, so, it is entirely possible that I will convince myself to buy it on Zero day. Sad, huh?
