Nintendo DS with dead pixels

Quick query for you all - I bought my girlfriend a Nintendo DS and a copy of Nintendogs today (And a fun little diversion it is, despite being nothing more than a souped up Tamigotchi).

However, I quickly noticed two dead pixels on the touch screen. A dead blue pixel right on the top line, and a dead green pixel mid bottom. Now, this was an anniversary gift for her and she says that she doesn’t care about the dead spots - whereas my attitude is that we should take it back to Wal-Mart today and get it swapped.

Will there be a problem swapping it for another one - and what are my chances of getting another one with dead pixels, anyone know?

If she doesn't care about the pixels (and really, two pixels isn't *that* much of a thing), I would just leave it. If you're that concerned about it, though, by all means...

I hear that Nintendo will repair dead pixels, even if you only have one and that their service-speed is decent as well. As to whether Wal-Mart will replace it, I'm not so sure.

Not to mention free.

If swapping it at the store doesn't work out, definitely RMA it. I had an extremely positive experience and my DS now works flawlessly.

I have one dead pixel on my DS and I only really ever notice it when the screen is completely black.

Nintendo has a one-dead-pixel-equals-replacement policy.

Mine had a dead pixel too, I got it replaced.

If you have dead pixels, do you have to bury it? Or can you just flush them down a toliet?

That's great to know everyone, thanks.

If I could get her to put the damn thing down for a minute or two I'd see about getting it replaced... :)
