My roommate (neither of us are very computer literate) just found a SIXTY GIGABYTE temp file on his hard drive. He has no idea where it came from, and he's never downloaded anything that large. What the fuck could it possibly be?

If you're using windows XP, it could be files created from defragging and/or scandisk-ing the hdd.

Could you give the filename?

Would, but he deleted it. Kind of wish he hadn't.

Damn shame, knowing the location of the file or it's extension would probably yeild a pretty accurate result as to it's function or what created it.
