Mozilla/IE security problems

Okay, I've just noticed I've got two seemingly unrelated browser issues.

Since this morning (3 hours ago) Firefox 1.5b has been sucking down all of my CPU time. I couldn't work out why file management was so slow: killing Firefox has fixed everything right up. What's up with that?

Further, I'm using IE to post this incase my Firefox is broken... and every time an IE window opens I get a popup demanding I install the east asian language pack. What's up with THAT?

Try using Firefox 1.06 instead of the beta. Firefox does have issues being a memory hog, and there may be more problems with the beta version than the regular.

The east asian language pack could be the result of viewing sites that use some type of asian fonts. Nothing really serious to worry about, and you should be able to turn it off somewhere in the control panel.

That's strange. It isn't sucking up mine. It is in fact noticeably faster than the older version.

Why won't you just concede and install it?

This is SD.net. No one concedes here, they just argue to death.

Guilty.

Have you checked the Mozilla forums to see if anyone else has this problem? The M. Foundation probably would like to know about this too. Maybe something about your setup is giving it a memory leak or similar problem.
