After many, many years of snotty Mac users taunting their fragile Windows-using friends over having to run anti-spyware software
, there has been increasing noise by critics over the lack of virus and spyware security on the Mac, which is in no way helped by the blasé attitude that most Mac users have towards protecting their computers from... nothing (so far).
Well, finally, the paranoid can be put to rest, as MacScan has come to the rescue by developing (one of) the first ever anti-spyware software "solution" for the Mac.

MacScan's claims are just about standard for anti-spyware software, and it hasn't been around long enough for anyone to put it to any sort of real test (not to mention that there's not much to test it with for the time being). However, the claims will, at the very least, put your mind at ease:

Can you trust everyone who uses your computer?
Did you purchase a used computer?
Could there be software intruders lurking about your machine?
Do you understand every shareware program you install?
Are you worried about hackers or email Trojans being installed without your knowledge?
Detects, Isolates & Removes:
-Spyware
-Keystroke Loggers
-Trojan Horses
-Administration Applications

Available for Mac OS X with a Classic version coming soon, it's a free download to anyone after filling out this handy form. The software is still in Beta 2, however, so be cautious as usual. So, who's installing it?
HaHa :P

Using windows btw, still at least Maccies are getting ready for viruses to hit their darlings once people begin to use Macs on a large scale.

Until there is known spyware on Mac's this just seems like a scam for me, as it has nothing to look for.

In saying that, I use windows. But my computer is secure with free tools

I use free programs too, AVG is much better than Norton.
However It's ridicolous to think that Viruses won't come to Linux or Mac just because they're written slightly better, they're simply not common enough or used by enough tech "know nots" to be worth the time of most virus writers or spyware makers.

Um... most webservers run some variant of UNIX/Linux. I'd say that's an attractive target.
