Urban Dead
A zombie MMORPG apparently. Sounds fun.

I'm a level 4 Soldier right now.
Game is pretty fun, you get 50 action points every 24 hours.
Everything from moving to attacking to reloading to scrounging takes 1 action point.
The premise is Zombies are taking over the town. Player characters who get killed (either by other humans or by zombies), rise as zombies to kill more humans (you can also start off as a zombie).
Players defend themselves by hording together behind barricaded buildings (zombies need to waste their AP on destroying the Barricade first) while zombies try to pick off people who aren't able to make it into a safehouse. Note that if a building is TOO barricaded, it prevents humans from entering, so it's a balance of barricading it enough to discourage zombies, but not shutting out all other humans.
The one problem is that I picked a military player so my skills are based around Pistols and Shotguns. They do very good damage compared to H2H weapons like Fire Axe, but I only get 6 shots per pistol clip and 1 shell per shotgun attack, so for every day I actually attack a zombie, I need to spend 2 days worth of APs scrounging up more ammo.
One thing though, is that it SUCKS being low level. Without military training, you only have a 5% chance to hit with a pistol to do 5 damage. Meanwhile a Zombie has 50 HP (60 if he took the skill). With military training, your hit goes up to 30%, but is still kinda weak. It's not until you get to level 2 and get Advanced Pistol does your attack go to 55% and you can really start mowing down zombies.
I currently have Expert Pistol (65%) and Advanced Shotgun (55%) so I'm a lean mean, zombie destroying machine!
You get 1XP for every point of damage you do, and 10 bonus XP for a kill. You need 75XP to level up in your class's skills (Military, Scientist, Civilian) or 150XP for the opposing class (Military opposes Science). Civilians can take all class skills for 100 XP and Military/Scientists can take Civilian skills for 100 XP
In addition to killing, you can get XP from healing, tagging buildings, Scanning Zombies, etc.
Good fun, I suggest you guys try it out, but REMEMBER TO LEAVE ENOUGH AP TO GET BACK INTO A SAFEHOUSE.
Unless you like sucking brains.

If you guys are interested in starting, I recommend a Soldier or a Police Officer. They both start off with Basic Pistols, so you can kill zombies right off the bat. Soldier is Military, Police is Civilian, so there is the XP issue to look into.
The best way is to start your character, and look for a Police Station. Get into the Police Station (make sure it's barricaded and is full of survivors, not an empty one) and start searching for ammo/weapons/flak jackets/etc. Once you are loaded to the gill with weapons, save up your APs until you get to 50, then venture out and kill a zombie. A level 1 character can probably only kill off 1 zombie before retreating, but the higher level you get, the better your accuracy and the more guns you get. This is important, because the more guns you have, the less you have to reload in combat. With 4 Pistols, you can shoot off 24 shots before reloading, usually enough to kill a zombie. Then you can run back to your Police Station and reload in the safety of it's barricades.

Fireman is a great way to start.

Fireman is the best class to start off, it dosn't require ammo to easily level up, most skills(mil skills) are discounted.
That said, I'm a buffing machine, 26 FAKs, 6 syringes, etc.

I'm in Dunningwood right now (NW corner of Malton). Where are you guys?
Not gonna give specific directions so people don't jump me knowing exactly which building I'm hiding out in, but if you guys are near, maybe we can get together or something.

I agree that this game rules. I've got a lvl 4 fireman and a lvl 3 zombie. What the game needs right now is more people to play zombies, right now they are out numbered by the survivors by like 3 to 1.

Actully it is 3:1, but zombies are currently taking over, infection gave them serious boosts.
Its a holding action up north, we're about to fall back.

Zombies? Taking over? The hell they are! PARA PARA forever!
I'm a level 14 police officer, and a proud member of the Penny Arcade Rebel Alliance, which is currently based in Giddings Mall, and has been there for over a month now, having turned away at least two organized assaults by The Many, the zombie clan of Something Awful.
Come get some, I say!

I had a zombie in Shearbank during the assault on the mall, so I got to participate in some of the massive carnage that went on there. He got revived though, so now I'm running from the remnants of the horde that are spreading out in all directions.

All of you zombies, stay away from north center, we don't need more enemies, its hard enough as it is.

Still hiding and running at level 1 Scout(I can jump from rooftop to rooftop yo, I'm like you know a ninja wootness)
And other such brillant gems as I read some of the forums with UD. But I acutal am a Scout running around, hiding in places with lots of strong barracades and other survivers to make sure I don't wake up zombie food the next time I log in.

Okey, more updates from the Lamport hills.
The entire neighborhood has been overrun, we lost the hospital, I'm down to making runs and running back to our *censored* hideout.

Gave the game a whirl. Looks enjoyable and simple enough to spend 5-10 minutes a day on. I took your advice, picked policeman, and found a strongly barricades police station right away and used all my AP to search. I found five clips, some flare guns, and some shotgun shells. Going to search for a shotgun in the ammunition store next, then try my hand at killing a zombie the next day. Thanks for the link.

Started up a fireman yesterday, so far just one kill and one badly wounded zombie to my credit, but working on it. Holed up in some shop in Lamport Hills with 3 other people and, sadly, I've got more experience points than all the rest of them put together. Meanwhile, there are zombies everywhere.
There's the occasional low-level zombie running around by himself but it seems like most of them are in groups of 3-4.

Fun bit of luck. Managed to get into a police station with about ten other people who seem pretty active. Got shotguns, flare pistols, axes, knives, annd no ammo for any of it. Out of points for now oh well.

I'm a scout hiding out in Rhodenbank (NE). 50 AP used and no EXP yet.
What's the best way to go up as a scout? Hit and run stabbings or trying to heal people?
OT Edit: Whoa... when did I get 500 posts?
