Half Life 2 woes

Post by Ace Pace »

Okey, I've been trying to replay HL2, and I'm running into issues, its taking ages to load, and when it does, either as a black screen with audio running but loading bar still there, or as an incredibly sttutery display every time I turn and whenever audio is played.

Drive is defragged.

Help?

Doh! Right, I forgot the update required new drivers. I'll go get them.

EDIT: Problem solved, thanks Farem.

*sigh*
I re-installed HL2 yesterday, as I am about to go to a multiplayer-game session with friends, and the install told me, I needed to install new drivers.
The few minutes I checked, the game looked basically stable, but had some short lags every few seconds. Does that mean I have to update my drivers...again?

Short lags...as in stuterring? Hmn, if you modified the config files, check to see you didn't acidently disable sound precaching.

I didn't modify a thing :D
But I'll look into that. Might have been a "normal" burp of windows...
