Close Combat issues - Black screen

When I launch CC:Invasion Normandy, I hear the movies playing and eventually the menu music, I can see the cursor - and move it around, but the screen remains completely black.

I have tried patching, running under all the different compatability modes...

I have a:
p4-2.8c
512mb DDR
Radeon X800pro

I've tried a bunch of shit, but have no idea what to do now... I wanna play!

is that when just starting it for single player game or when you launch it trough gamespy for a multiplayer game?

It just doesn't work.

try this:

open dxdiag.
click the display tab and turn off direct draw and problem should be solved
