Ack! Virus!

I'm pretty sure I installed a virus that came in from an email from my ISP administrator. My task manager has disappeared and Norton will not load anymore. What should I do?

Backup any documents & the like and format the box. And get a different AV than Norton, it sucks.
I'm also fairly sure there is a lesson involving not trusting random attachments from people here too, especially if they claim to be someone official.

That's the thing.. it was 6 am in the morning, and the address WAS from my ISP. I use a small local ISP, so I know the admin and routinely get things from them.
