Nintendo Revolution
1. Ok, as most of you know, the upcoming Nintendo console Revolution will give the user the ability to download past Nintendo titles. While I think this is great, I noticed that I don't recall reading anything saying you would be able to download games from the GBA consoles. Does anybody know if Revolution users will have acess to past GameBoy titles?
2. Prices. Anybody know how much downloads will cost and will they charge you every 90 days or what?

2) From what I understand there will be a one time fee per game, I don't know if it's variable or itunes style fixed.

Since the GBA has backwards compatibility with GB/GBC games, and the DS presumably has the same (it has the GBA slot, but I dunno if it has the hardware for GB/GBC games), I doubt Nintendo will release GB titles as downloads.

The head of Nintendo has said no prices have been decided yet, in a G4 interview. However, he has stated that he must price things affordably for their plan to involve non-gamers to succeed. S'all I know on the pricing front.

DS is only compatible with GBA games, not legacy Gameboy titles.Darth Yoshi wrote:Since the GBA has backwards compatibility with GB/GBC games, and the DS presumably has the same (it has the GBA slot, but I dunno if it has the hardware for GB/GBC games), I doubt Nintendo will release GB titles as downloads.
Sorry, the DS is GBA compatible only. No GB or GBC support. And I also doubt that the GB titles will be downloadable as long as the Gameboy line, excluding the DS, is backwards compatible.Darth Yoshi wrote:Since the GBA has backwards compatibility with GB/GBC games, and the DS presumably has the same (it has the GBA slot, but I dunno if it has the hardware for GB/GBC games), I doubt Nintendo will release GB titles as downloads.

One thing that has me confused is how they're doing backwards compatibility when IIRC, the controller for the revolution would be VERY bad for playing games from past systems.
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

The original GB and GBC had a Z80 processor.
The GBA had an ARM7 processor and a Z80 processor (so it could play GBA and GBC/GB games).
The DS has an ARM9 and an ARM7 processor (so it cna play DS and GBA games).
Therefore, no GBC and GB games for the DS. The cartridges don't even fit in; the GBA games have a special cut on the sides, the DS only lets those ones in.

For GameCube games, it has GameCube controller and memory card slots.
The Revolution controller is an NES controller when you tilt it sideways.
The controller enclosure should have buttons from N64 and SNES.
