Dynasty Warriors 5 and 5XL

I was originally going to wait until DW5's expansion game came out and buy only that so as to not have to pay for two games to get the same thing. However, upon examination of Koei's website, I have found implications that DW5XL does not have either Musou or Free modes. Is this true? If so, which of the two would be the recommended purchase (based on what information we have on 5XL)?

According to reviews I've read Dynasty Warrirors 5 and 5XL is identical to 4, and 3. Infact since three the only changes have been diffrent maps, more diffcult to unlock horses and more charaters. None of the problems have been fixed.

If you like DW and you have 4. Then you've played this game.

Yeah, the Extra Large's are always just addons. A cynic might point out that DW5 lacks many of the refinements seen in DW4:XL, so they were probably left out deliberately. They don't involve engine fixes, just additional content (I bought DW3:XL just for 'very hard' mode, given the games' horrible late-game easyness).
