Firefox hates apostrophes

Ocassionally (like right fucking now) Firefox beta will take all my apostrophe keypresses as opening the search bar. It goes away - eventually - but it makes me look like an illiterate fool (a MORE illiterate..) and I was wondering if Id just left a box checked somewhere.

Like hell it has. I can type apostrophes just fine.
Perhaps you accidently mismapped ' in one of your extensions ?
EDIT : Google tells me it's a bug in the 1.5 betas that seems to affect the Windows version only. Until it's fixed you can downgrade to 1.0.7. I'll see if I can find something else.

It's always done the same for me, through at least versions 1.0.4 - 1.0.6 for mac.
Which is why I use Opera. Opera works.

Really? '''''''''''
Check it out. A whole string of apostrophes, and not one of them opened the search bar.

Swot I mean, Rogue - I use Firefox in different places basically all day, and only occasionally, for maybe an hour, it'll start taking apostrophes as open the search bar.
Honestly, I think it's something to do with the browser not recognising I'm entering data and not controlling the browser: when it's happening, / opens the search bar too.

' and / are supposed to trigger the search bar (one for links, one for text) when pressed while the focus is *not* on an input field. Soemthing must be messing with the field recognition.
You can always use charmap, or copy/past
