PSP question...

Both Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo fit in its memory card slot, correct? Then why is it that some PSP users have told me that the Duo doesn't fit, yet Pro Duo does? 
Even says in the manual that Duo does fit, but now I need confirmation before I upgrade from the one that came with my PSP...
Also while we're on memory sticks, what's the difference between Duo and Pro Duo? Thanks.
