Civ 4 is being released tomorrow

Is anyone else going to buy this? Since I've had so much fun playing Civ games in the past, I'll probably just pick it up tomorrow without playing it first. Since Leonard Nimoy does the narrations, it must be good. :)

I'm getting this as soon as I'm done with my recent homework load. I've been a slave to the Civ games ever since I found II on my uncle's computer years ago.

Not released here until friday, but as I have posted previously, I already have it on order. Nimoys narration was singled out for particular praise in IGN's review, where it scored over 9.

I want to know if the new Map editor will have anything more diverse then the traditiona; "Grassland, Hill, Moutain" with ALL hills being the same height and All mountains being the same height...

Blasphemy. Next you will want the realistic combat with Battleships never dying to Caravels and Triremes

Wasn't that one of the things on the list of Things To Be Fixed In Civ4?

Indeed it was. As for myself, I'll probably pick it up as soon as I'm finished with my damned midterms.

Apparently it can still happen but it is less probable (why they don't go back to the AC/Civ2 system is beyond me) now. OTOH, they have a bunch of upgrades for units you could simulate elite formations :-D

I'm getting it tommorow. Jesus christ, I have got to stop buying all these games. I'll never get anything done. :(

I've been playing Civ since 1992 (I think), well anyway since Civ I. However, I start flight school on Friday. Damn the fates, I'll not be getting this game until API ends in December, but I'll be getting it then.

what is the price of the game?

EDIT: the special edition is going for 50.00 U.S. Also the game is getting star treatment since Martin Sheen is doing the narrating for the launch trailer.

I have not paid any attention to the game market for sometime.
If they make combat more like Civ2 than Civ 1 or Civ3 then I
certainly will give it a peak.

Let me know how it is. With the disappointing Civ 3 and MoO 3 and RoN, I think I'll stick with R: TW right now for strategy needs.

Any news on this one?

I tried to run by Best Buy, Circuit City and Gamestop with no luck.

Will try again Friday.

Ugh, not enough funds to go toward Civ IV for the moment, I'm afraid. Next paycheck's dedicated to getting 3 DVDs, so it looks like Civ IV's being held off until November for me.

It does, however, look really good. I'm just sad they kicked the Babylonians. :( They were always my favorite civ. I don't know why they couldn't have had 19 civilizations at the start instead of 18.

"3 days straight. Wouldn't get up to eat. Wouldn't get up to go to the bathroom."

"You didn't go to the bathroom for 3 days?"

"I said I didn't get up ."

Ah, Civ4... God I'm going to hate you.
