Great game, just recently got into it myself, on Brda world.

You just need IE to download it the program and then never touch it again.

On that note, the download file is fairly large for 56kers, but they are kind enough to break it down into 20 10mb .rars so you can do it bits at a time.

Well why in fuck do I need IE to dl it? What have they embedded the dl in an activeX control or something fucking retarded like that? I mean shit, you'd think they'd have heard of one of the wonderful cross platform technologies such as html, ftp or even gopher for fuck's sake!!!

Here's the source code for their index, just looks like a bunch of html and javascript to me, can't see any reason why they'd make it ie only.

Well I've played the game for a while now. It's ok, but half the time the mouse is horrible, and with about half the NPCs I cant tell if they just don't have dialogue or if the mouse support is just so borked that it woun't let me double click 'em. The art is decent, if sub par in some parts. My biggest complaint is that the game seems to constantly barrage you with random useless crap as well as having the unique ability to turn 5 second tasks into 5 minute tasks by a combination of opaque goals and controls that are unresponsive and ill thought out to the point of madness.

Maybe it just hates me then, because there didn't seem to be signifigant lag.

Not to mention that the need for Internet Explorer fits the textbook definition of "retarded".

It seems that you can download it using Firefox if you disable Javascript. I did (didn't download it though, just tested to see if it worked), and on their download page there seems to be an option; "online install". That's probably the one which requires IE (indeed, it links to something with "activeX" in the name).


Edit: Now I know why you have to use IE. Their screenshot page is using defective Javascript and HTML and, mostly likely, so is the rest of the site. Well, if they don't want me to see their screenshots with whatever standards-compliant browser I want, then fuck'em. They probably wrote their game in fucking C#, anyway

Ok, I gave in and visited the site with IE. On the signup it asked for my email address...fair enough I start entered mark.rus... *BEEP* CAN ONLY BE LETTERS AND NUMBERS.

WTF? It won't allow people with dots in their email address to sign up? What was that darthdavid was saying about drunken retarded chimps?

I tried visiting that site but I get a 404.

Damn it. It's soooo fucking addictive. I hate you. I can see it's shit. The anime graphics are irritating, the players are for the most part stupid ( though 1 guy did sell me a transport scroll well below the going value when I ended up in the wrong town, so there are some people looking out for nubs like me ) and the developers keep finding new ways to piss me off, but the game is addictive like black tar heroine. Grrr...
