Dude I am an oldshool gamer, I have all those games, but I lost my BG II when I moved.DEATH wrote:If You like them you'll love Planescape torment and the Fallout games.
Try darkest night for a 120mb expansion
While we're at it, there was a quest I missed that would give you some kind of uber armor made of human flesh. I obtained all ingredients bar something from a silver dragon (iirc).Alferd Packer wrote:Play an evil party. Nothing's move fun than being a total prick to everyone you meet, and it's more difficult.
+5 AC not much else. You needed the human skin from the evil tanner, plus doing the skindancer missions then the Silver dragon blood from the Silver dragon you run across.wautd wrote:While we're at it, there was a quest I missed that would give you some kind of uber armor made of human flesh. What were the stats of this armor? Thinking of the difficulty of getting it, it must have been pretty good
Leather armor, armor class 3, Saving throws +4 (REALLY good), and Magic Resistance of 20%, IIRC. The critical factor was that any evil character except a mage could wear it, so it found its way to my low-save thieves and clerics frequently.wautd wrote:While we're at it, there was a quest I missed that would give you some kind of uber armor made of human flesh. Is that all? Eh. The black dragon skin armour is easier and much better, AC1 and 50% acid resistance, IIRC. Although the bonus to saves would be useful, I guess.Master of Ossus wrote:Leather armor, armor class 3, Saving throws +4 (REALLY good), and Magic Resistance of 20%, IIRC. Viconia was easily the best cleric NPC in the game, you can still have Jaheira, and Sarevok was the best fighter in the game. Evil has the best cleric, fighter, and mage in the bloody game, and retains access to Jaheira, whose Harper's Call ability makes her competitive even with PC druids.Ghost Rider wrote:My only beef with the evil side was you got practically only one party(while Edwin was great, the rest were at times either eh or bleh...but at least in the expansion you get to boot out on of the retards for someone decent).
True. Also evil wasn't really offered much difference, and the rewards being good outweighed most of the eh extra dialogue.
That patch was great. Some of those battles were ridiculous. I especially liked the multi-dragon fight.Though if you want an absurd challenge, see if the patch still exists for TRUE Demogorgon. Gods he was a fucker and a half in the form.
In TOB, AC is basically useless since your enemies have THAC0's in the -10 range, so unless you've got a character with an AC near -15 (doable but VERY difficult) then it provides virtually no real protection. Only fighters, thieves with UAI (and who are willing to give up their thieving abilities to wear plate), and blades with their defensive spin ability can regularly get their AC's down that low. The human skin armor allowed for much better saves, and magic resistance easily trumps acid resistance except under very specific circumstances, particularly since a thief with UAI can actually gain MR greater than or equal to one hundred percent.Manus Celer Dei wrote:Is that all?
