You're talking to someone downloading at about 15 kb/s (Bloody shared adsl connection)

Got it, visually it is one of the most stunning things I've seen in an FPS. Makes my GF6600 cry though, and it crashed on me when I got near the top of the cliff.

Should I even bother putting my 9600Pro into the ring?

Though I will be seeing it in its FULL glory on a 68GT, VERY soon.

Hmm, something to get for tonight.

EDIT: Ah, installed already. But it's going to kill my system so I don't see why I bothered. With an ancient Radeon and half gig of RAM, the only thing I have going for me is a P4 that overheats. Ho-hum.

Well that was a small level, but nice graphics indeed.

What exactly is the level like then? I know it will look amazing, but I'm waiting till Xmas to upgrade my RAM and GPU.

Supershort, 5min max to go through it.

It is more of a tech demo than a game, with some comments and stuff about how they made it and why.

Interesting. I was expecting something longer, but for a tech demo that's acceptable. I'm wondering, on a related topic, what would be a good GPU to go for this December? I'd limit myself to £200 tops, but am unsure what I'd need to really get the most from this demo and future games.

AGP would be a 6800GT unless your system will be held back.

PCI-E would be very dependent on prices then, with X1800 MAYBE arriving into the market.

Hmm, my RADEON 9200 (yes, old) is registered on a PCI slot, but has another entry as a secondary with AGP in the name. My last PC was clearly AGP only from the motherboard, this one is giving me doubts.

I'll have to look into that more, but either way, evaluating potential cards would be good.

Go to audio in the options menu, you can turn commentary on and off from there.

Remember, your 9200 is on good old PCI, not PCI-express. Make sure you check your power requirements and space available inside the case before buying anything.

I wonder where this would have been put into Highway 17. I guess the ending where you're lowered back down to the start would have been different. Possibly when you reach the top then you get back into your car or something, which had been lifted up there wihtout you for some reason.

Lets see, my video card barely meets the minimum requiremets, though it does have extra ram that they don't usually take into account (radeon 9600 w/ 256 megs) on low cards from it's era and my processor's too slow. I also only have 256 megs over the minimum ammount of main memory. In other words it'll absoulutely devour my computer if I even attemt to run it. :D

Ran on my computer just fine 1024x768 with 4xAA and 16AF. Lowest FPS was 24FPS in the church after tossing gerenades into Combine. Pretty map.
