Anyone know a reliable way to convert .rmvb to .avi? I've got a small project I'm working on and I need to get some video into Adobe Premier, and the only copy of the video there is is in shitty Real format ><

You know, I came in here thinking that the title meant that .rmvb is better than .avi, and was all set to ask what the hell you were smoking.
As to the question, no idea.

Are you willing to pay for the software, or are you looking for a freeware version that'll do the same thing?

Freeware preferably, pay if need be.

Try this:
http://iriverter.sourceforge.net/
It's a GUI frontend to MEncoder. Not sure if it will handle rmvb, but it's worth a try.

Nope, rmvb seems to be one of the few things it won't do.

What about getting RealAlternative and transcoding with VirtualDub? Maybe that will work?

Try the
Boilsoft RM Converter then? It seems to do everything you want, though it'll cost about $25.00 or so.

Weird, Mencoder is supposed to handle RMVB . Do you have a sample?
