Health systems.

Seeing as CoD2 has adopted the "Halo health"/recharging health dynamic, I thought I'd gauge opinions on the matter.
So, vote for which you believe is the better system.

Neither: I prefer America's Army's. The more damage you've taken, the more you're hindered in combat and you can also bleed to death without a medic around. Getting hit also just plain fucks you up.

That would fall under the first category.
Having played a lot of AA, the introduction of the medic moved it into the "health-pack" style of play.

The medic does NOT actully increase your health in Americas Army, it only stops bleeding.
Its not a normal game medic.
I'm all for exact numbers.

The Halo style certainly makes it easier to survive, and in really tough games or sections of games I might appreciate that, but overall I prefer the challenge that comes from having fixed health.
There's nothing that sharpens your senses more or makes your heart beat faster than running through the deserted halls of some creepy base, with your health low enough that the next demon you run into could kill you with one hit, desperately searching for that little white box with a cross on it.

I hate recharge systems. I believe they are for babies.
However, I can see that really it doesn't make much difference. In your average hitpoint FPS, there is a ridiculous number of health packs around, and sometimes you can even carry them about like in FEAR. Because of this I don't think it's significant - in multi it's annoying, but since they'll just die and respawn anyway, it just streamlines the process and reduces downtime.

I prefer recharge systems in that that it introduces a more tactical "Duck and recover" feeling to combat, and in that you can snipe and wear down an opponent or group without it hurting you more.

I far prefer the "recharge" system...
I feel that its a far superior gameplay dynamic to the medkit hunt. It also makes me not rely on quicksaving every 10 seconds.
In games like CoD2 the recharge dynamic works absolutely beautifully as it fits perfectly with the gameplay and tactics.
And on further consideration, the health in AA is more like most other "realistic" shooters - if you're hit, you're probably dead. If not. You're fucked up. No real recourse.

The only thing I do not like with CoD2 is the trigger points.
Clear out a shitload of enemies and wham they spawn back untill you pass over some sort of trigger point.
