The official Dawn of War homepage for the UK, dawnofwargame.uk, is hosting a competition:

Enter to win a FREE Winter Assault Strategy Guide from Brady Games signed by the developers at Relic!

View the details on My THQ. Instructions:
1. Sign up for My THQ
2. Register your Dawn of War: Winter Assault game
3. View the Strategy Guide details as a My THQ user

After registering you are supposed to email THQ “the name of the race you’d most like to see added to the next Dawn of War game”.

This is a rather strong indication for another DoW game. Obviously at this point it’s all speculation whether this is going to happen at all, and if so, whether it will be an expansion or a new game, but this is another clue which seems to indicate more DoW goodness coming our way.
I know, might be kind of a duh, but at least there's confirmation. :D

We Want Necrons, if not that then uber psykers as add on units or Tyranids (Since I heard that they cameo towards the end of WA)

The code supports the Necrons respawnSPOILERIZED now, so we may not seem them; there's a profoundly professional RACENAMEHERE mod in the works, with, I beleive, some of the members working with Relic. So either they're going to them, or the other.

Huh? :? I've only seen The Metal Skinned Bastards...

As for a new army.. You'd have to think of wich ones are the most fanboy worshiped. one idea in the chat is Tau

I'd rather like to see Tau in there sometime... put them slightly above Imperial Guard in game rankings, low-powered but with some nifty toys, that kind of thing.

I don't think we should have Tyranids as an official playable race... while I'm sure it could be done, I get the impression they would look too much like a Zerg ripoff.

Dark Eldar might be fun, but really, considering the relative weakness of the Eldar, they're probably nigh useless as far as it goes; perhaps set them to be by default small groups, high AI-- charge through the battlefield, kill off a few units, scare the pants off whoever's playing and then fade out into the background? To be sure, you couldn't make them a playable race if they were made as such...

The problem with Necrons is balance... As in, there will be none. A Warrior group is ridiculously effective, and they have no permenant structures.

I have the same concern (sort of) with Tyranids... because as far as I know, though Necrons have their Monoliths, Orks have the Boyz Hut, and so forth, Nids have nothing. Flesh pits, and that's about it. Plus, their units play as-is; you can't really upgrade them per se. Not really sure how you could use SP's and CP's with them as well, not to mention how they'd earn resource, among other concerns.

Really, aside from tabletop, Nids don't exactly fit RTS games too well...

There wouldn't have been balance had the Imperial Guard been fielded as they were in the original game either, although admittedly it would have been the other way. I know there's a Necron mod in development. How they plan on balancing everything I don't know, as I know very little about Necrons in general.

Maybe they'll make shit up? That's not beyond reason...

Course 'Nids fit well in RTS games, they fit well in any game. Upgrades? Sure, they're called biomorphs, such as adrenal glands and such like; the 'Nids are far more upgradeable than the Necrons, bar none.

You know, none of the other races really jump out at me as being really jawsome. Time for them to stop screwing around and make Battlefleet Gothic.

There's always the Tau. I want to see a Dreadnought shredding a Crisis Suit.

As others have mentioned, 'Nids work fine. They slid in some silly buildings for the other races, it wouldn't be much of a stretch at all for 'Nids too. In fact, by fluff, I'd say 'Nids have "more buildings" than the Astartes do, who themselves are limited pretty much to: Fortress-Monastery, and outposts. The bugs have all kinds of crazy-ass mutations they put on a world they're planning on eating, hell, you could even have a "tainted settlement" sort of building that produces Genestealers.

As for upgrades... well. There's a whole damn shitload you can customize your army with in the 4th Ed. Codex, it'd be cake to translate that into DoW. Fleshy hooks, fleet of claw, wings, extended carapace, venom glands, etc. etc.

Aren't 4th Ed 'Nids something like the most customisable army there is?

Fleet of Foot
Fleet of Claw
Fleet of Wing
Fleet of Hoof.

Every single one is in the rulebook/Codices.

Dark Eldar (we could be able to capture enenmy units and garrison them in our buildings for toture's....

kinda make up for having paper thin vehicles...

not to mention we could use the cynobite lines...
