Does anyone else miss the days when you had unlimited ammo, ridiculous jumping abilities, and no shirt on as you battled your way through hundreds of enemies in clear, well-defined levels?

I sure as hell do. Man, Contra 3 is basically the best game of its kind of all time. Alien Hominid follows somewhat in its footsteps as a kickass 2D shooter that actually takes skill.

Don't forget when bosses could be described by how many credits you had to pay to kill it: NAM 1975's final boss is RETARDED, and I challenge anyone to beat it on less than 3 credits.

I prefer the various Metal Slug games to Contra. I just think it's more entertaining, especially when you have to fight zombies. Mmmm, bloody puke.
