After three years of on-off work, relentless bug hunts, and testing, I am ready to release a completed version of Final Flamewar: The Fiver Menace. It's a 42MB download.

I and my playtesting team have spent much of this time dutifully hunting down bugs, but in case we missed one, please PM me (so it can be addressed for the Special Edition release when Phong finishes the 4th Sidequest).

As for discussions about the game, please, NO SPOILERS. There are surprises in the plot, you see. If you want, open a second thread marked "SPOILERS" for the purpose of discussing the game.

I'll warn you now that I think some of my writing in the game can get bad at times - stilted, mushy, and such - but it's not that serious of a work, as some of the injokes will clearly imply. The game is meant to be fun, maybe a bit challenging at parts, but I've tried to keep the difficulty level sane.

The controls are simple. Z for action/confirm, X for cancelling, arrow keys for movement. In the Equipment screen you can switch between characters with the right and left arrow keys.

If the thing won't work even after you install it, go ahead and download this zip file and install the RTP packages within. That should do it. Enjoy the game!

This corrects a couple of minor bugs until Steve can incorporate them into the release.

Regardless of that, finnaly booted it, just to see it worked. Any way to get it to NOT fullscreen? On a 19 inch LCD its...

Hit F4. And then if you want it smaller, F5.

Sorry to be such an idiot with this app but the text gets unreadable on full screen or F4 size, F5 is barely readable. the letters merge together, is this the font or just my screen?

Probably that damn font issue again. Copy the game fonts into your windows font directory.

Fixed version is going up now. Give it half an hour or so to finish uploading.

Fortunately, unless you use the testing event at the beginning that I forgot about, I don't think you have to erase your current save and start over. Unless you're not far into the game, then you might as well make sure.
