So I'm marching my faction leader's army- Legio I Claudia Pia Fidelis, the prize army of my entire Empire, full stack, superb skill, back to Italy after taking a few WRE provinces to the West, with an eye on taking Raetia. He's 57 years old, he's been my faction leader for a long time, he's probably got at least 5-10 more years in him- he's got everything he wants.
Then I push next turn- I get a faction announcement that I've got a new faction leader- the heir I'd designated (who was marching to Rome after winning a minor skirmish with the WRE to take up leadership of a new stack I was raising there). But there's no message saying my current faction leader is dead!
I look over to where I last left him and sure enough, there he is- grey, as in Rebel- but the stack is gone. The army has disappeared- it's just my Rebel faction leader.
What the fuck? I check the rest of the announcements, and it tells me a revolt has been put down? When, fucker, when?
YES, my faction leader has *zero* loyalty- but isn't loyalty for the FACTION LEADER a bloody idiotic concept anyway? He *is* the faction, what the fuck reason has he got to revolt?
"Well, I'm head of the mightiest army in the history of Rome, my Empire pulls in 50000 denarii on a good turn, the WRE is slowly being dismembered, but you know what- I'm gonna give it all up and revolt!"
Revolt against who, moron?!!?!?
*sigh* Luckily I had it saved so I quickly took his army away from him. I'll give it to one of the young family men. My faction leader can walk around Italy, alone, for the rest of his life for all I care- maybe I'll get lucky and bandits will kill him.
