Perfect Dark...Source?
The Source version of one of the best FPS games ever is 70% complete! Awesome...I just wish the developers would make a SP campaign though.

Shit, sorry, it's my fault AU has horribly slow, expensive broadband. Oh wait, no it isn't! And I've never got anything better to do with the staggeringly limited volume! Fuck off. Further, I regard activating HL2 as a waste of even a single second, since it sucks. I would only even ATTEMPT it if there was a good mod for the engine.InnocentBystander wrote:Downloading while you are asleep/away from your PC is a waste? Your time must be valuable indeed.

SMOD=?
What does it stand for? It's hl2 compatible, not hl1 only like the specialists, right?

To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.

Good God man, its not like pulling teeth. I installed HL2 and registered it (which is bullshit) in about five minutes. Patching Winter Assault to 1.41 on the other hand...Stark wrote:Shit, sorry, it's my fault AU has horribly slow, expensive broadband. Oh wait, no it isn't! Well, the less said about that, the better.
Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.
Yet what he creates tends to be total shit. Example: Ode to Spot.
Purely subjective. Believe it or not, there are people who like that poem.
There are people who like to eat shit too. Those people are idiots.- Darth Servo and Bounty.

My SMOD is in it's own directory called smod which is in 'c:\blah\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods' where blah is where ever you installed Steam to.
It'll then hopefully appear under the 'My Games' tab when you next run Steam. The version I got didn't have a English readme (it's Japanese I think) so here's some useful things I found in the config.cfg file, which is in the cfg directory within the smod directory (this file might not be there until after you've run the mod for the first time).
If you look through the file for this line:
npc_randomize_weapon "0"
change the 0 to 1 and the Combine and Rebels will get some of the new guns in the game at random, which makes things intresting, especially when they're armed with the SVD sniper rifle.
You can also set what guns they're randomly limited to, by fiddling with the lines below that one.
A bit further down the file you should see:
bullettimesim_bulletspeed "400"
With this and the lines below you can modify the effects of the bullet time, though seemingly not how fast it drains the auxillary power.
When you've loaded the mod up, you'll want to go to the options page to set up keys for bullet time and kick.
You'll probably want to enable the cheats too, so if you don't know what to do go have a look at Gamefaqs or similar.
