Blocking AIM advertisements

If you don't use IE as your web browser, then open an IE window and click "file" and check the "work offline" option.
Now when you start AIM select the "work offline" option when it pops up. Your buddy list should now appear like this:
No more annoying audio and video ads!

Or you could simply not use the default AIM client instead.

Very true, but I find it to be convenient, especially when trying to send files to friends who only use the default client.

Err, other clients let you send files to people using the default client, you know. (Unless you're using that piece of shite AIM express).

Did that...now I get a "Do you want to try to connect?" dialog box whenever I open AIM. Any ideas on how to get rid of that?
