HDD Issue, small.. but help appreciated.

Okay, so I'm having this little problem with my PC. The PC works fine, absolutely fine... it's more of an annoyance than a problem. Take a look at this screenshot.

http://www.jonreid.co.uk/images/jonsbal ... veicon.jpg

As you can see, the drive icon for C: is one of those 'filetype unrecognised' images, rather than the drive icon it should be, also open is the control panel window which shows you that the image for drives is correctly set, but not being applied to by C: drive.

Also, note the 'remove hardware safely' icon present in the sys tray... this is always there, and when I hover over it it tells me 'click here to safely remove your ST3200822AS - Drive C:'- which is my SATA HDD. I don't think it's supposed to do that? lol

So I'm assuming that on some level, XP is incorrectly identifying my HDD as a removable drive, and showing the 'remove hardware icon', as well as failing to assign the proper drive icon to my HDD. Again, aside from that little issue, I have absolutely no problems using the drive, and everything from my OS to my holiday snaps are stored on it- it's my only disk drive.

I figured there must be someone around here who might have an incline as to what the heck is going on and might be able to offer me some assistance? It's just damned annoying! Thanks :p

Hm, what's that theme?
What about the tweakui repair icons feature? (is it still there in the WinXP one)?

Yeah I've tried that. I think the reason none of this is working though is because the fault is in windows recognising my HDD incorrectly as a removable drive, which I haven't got any idea how to remedy. It's not casuing any problems, but still...

Update drivers?
'My Computer' -> 'Properties' -> 'Hardware' -> 'Device Manager' -> 'Disk Drives' and select your HD. Right-click gives you 'Update Driver...'.
