Yonah matches Athlon X2

Post by phongn »

The P6 core keeps chugging along and, according to Anandtech, the dual-core Yonah design is pretty much matching up well with the Athlon X2 - at lower power consumption. This will make for a rather nice laptop processor; AMD might face trouble when Conroe comes out for the desktop.

With AMD not having anything new atleast till 2007(reference: Anandtech article on Fab 36), it seems like Intel is going to have a good year for product launchs.

Now if Yonah scales(they didn't get the highest speed), Intel has a great chip.

Quite impressive. I do hope can maintain it's advantage though, the competition is healthy.
