Tis pissing me off something rotten, I'm supposed to be revising, but instead I'm trying to figure out why things just aren't working. I can login on my sister's MSN name, I can get hotmail access, but when I try to use MSN on both of our computers on my own name, it tells me 'service is temporarily unavailable' even though the actual service claims to be running on the status page. The connection troubleshooter tells us that the gateway is offline, but repairing it doesn't work. Reregistering all the various .dll files is also fruitless. This is narking me somewhat, as I'm buggered if I can find a reason for it if it works for one MSN name but not for another one. It's been like this all day.

Anyone else got the same problem or has read of a solution? An hour of googling has revealed nothing of use.

EDIT: MSN 7.5 in use. MSN webmessenger also seems unwilling to work as well. Yahoo messenger works fine.

works whenever this affects me.

Several times over the past half day, no joy, am afraid.

You might want to try going back to MSN 7.0, it worked for me, though in my case my login worked on a different computer.

Does it come with a message which says what problem your having which has a a number when you try and log on? It may be that a bit of software has gone awry and you have to install MSN again. It;s happened to me several times.
