New Megaman Series! (Rockman Zekusu?)

Megaman Network

So that's why they ended Rockman EXE. Assuming it's not some kind of elaborate hoax, it looks kind of interesting, especially with the official art. It appears like the characters can transform their 'suits' into different forms; Van can turn into Zero. Neato.

They're still making Megaman games?

The MegaMan GBA games are top notch. The MegaMan Zero series is my favorite GBA platformer, and MegaMan Battle Network 3 is my favorite handheld RPG. Even though the story is stupid, it's insanely fun, especially multiplayer.

Unfortunately the Zero games are all too similar and the Battle Network series just went downhill after 3- 4 was way too short, slower paced and boring- 5 was even worse and took out a lot of the strategy. And like I said, too many. 1-5 are all GBA.

Rockman EXE is Battle Network, right?
It's not over, number 6 is coming :?
Zero is the one that ended.

I'm glad that its moving to DS. GBA MegaMan games are starting to get worn out, despite the great game engine.

The screenshots look VERY zero-ish. I wonder...
In Zero 2, X's body was destroyed, and he was turned into a 'cyber-elf' form (stupidest name ever) and he finally died in 3 (but he stated he 'couldn't stay in this world much longer'). We know that when reploids are destroyed their memories remain in some weird 'cyberworld'. Zero's body was destroyed in Zero 4...

Could their memories be recovered in the sequel?

They've turned MegaMan into Pokemon with its latest incarnation though. :(

That's what I meant, actually. 6 is going to be the last game in the Battle Network/EXE series, though most cynically figured that was just a marketing ploy; if they're going to be dropping it in favor of a 'new' series, though, then maybe they're actually serious.

Wait. How many SPIN-OFF series does Megaman have?

Megaman
Megaman X
Megaman Zero
Megaman EXE
Megaman Battle Network
Megaman Legends
Megaman Command Mission
Maverick Hunter X

...em. Half of those above have almost double digit installments. How are they still making a game that reached it's peak in 1993?

Maverick Hunter X is a part of the X series. So your list is technically a bit shorter. As it is there's Megaman, Megaman X, Megaman Zero, Megaman Battle Network, and Megaman Legends. However there are several games within each particular series. :?

Like Zod said, your list is a bit long. Command Mission is part of the X series, as is Maverick Hunter X, and Megaman EXE doesn't exist (perhaps you're confusing it with Rockman EXE?). The actual list of series is:

Megaman
Megaman X
Megaman Zero
Megaman Battle Network
Megaman Legends

Actually, this looks like a Zero sequel, not Battle Network/EXE.

MegaMan EXE (actually Rockman EXE) is the Japanese name for Battle Network. You listed that twice.

Maverick Hunter X is a remake of MegaMan X, so you listed that twice.

Command Mission is part of the X series.

The rest, yeah. There are IIRC 8 MegaMan games (not 100% sure), 8 MegaMan X games (the last two of which sucked terribly), 4 MegaMan Zero games, 6 Battle Network games not counting alternative versions (4: Red Sun and 4: Blue Moon for example) and rereleases (MegaMan Battle Network 5 DS), one Command Mission, and two Legends.

We did a count a while back, there's well over 50 megaman games, and I know someone who's played almost all of them.

Rockman + Forte, also known as Megaman & Bass, counts as part of the MegaMan series I believe.

Battle + Chase I know nothing about.

MegaMan soccer is better forgotten.

And all they needed was:

Megaman 1-4 and 7
Megaman X1-X3

Thats it.

Gold Armor + Beam Saber = TEH UBAR

MegaMan Zero 1-4 + MegaMan Battle Network 3 should be included.

MMBN1, 2, 4, 5, 6, DS, and all the "colored" versions (Red Sun, Blue Moon, Team ProtoMan, Team Colonel, Blue, White, etc) should never have existed.

I actually liked MegaMan X4-6, although the storyline was confusing and downright nonsensical, the gameplay was cool. And you could play Zero the whole game :)

Lets see, there is 5 Gameboy Megamans, 9 in the regular series if you count Megaman and Bass as 9, plus a Game Gear Megaman, plus atleast two arcade games that I know about(Capcom vs *blanks* don't count), then 7 Battle Networks counting the GCN Transmission(don't really know how much of a stand alone game that was) plus that wierd Battlechip Challege game, 4 Zeros, 8 Xs, 2 Xtremes(GBA X games), Command Mission, Battle & Chase, Soccer, thats 42 by my count.

The Game Gear Mega Man was basically just a compilation of levels from Mega Man 4 and 5 for the NES.

And there were also the Mega Man eXtreme games, which are to MMX what the Gameboy Mega Man series was to the original.

And technically, Mega Man, MMX, MMZ and MML are all part of the same continuity.

Actually there are 3 Megaman Legends games if you include the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, set in the legends universe.

But it did have some original content, and wasn't strictly a remake, so I count it.

Haha, I loved Misadventures. "Curry rice!" "B Lunch!"

Then there was the torture chamber for when the Servbots were slacking off. I loved when they slacked off because the torture chamber was so much fun. Run, run, or you'll be well done!

Not to mention the bank robbery, where you accidently rob an animal hospital instead.
