a wierd Anti-virus problem

ok my Anti-virus program just desided to disable itself with out any real warning (everything else works fine but the virus database won't turn on).

impossible (I can't update it until the database is initialized, and that's exactly what it won't do)

Which program are you using?

I'm not quite sure, but I think there are viruses and worms out there that can disable some AV software when they infect a machine, and something like this is what I'd expect them to do.

My mom and dads fsecure crapped out today and I do not know why.

They've had some problems with the updates lately. Last week the network in my school got totally fucked because F-Secure had some problem with the way the updated evrsion interacted with the server, especially logins.

First thing you want to do is read any FAQs, news and known issue articles on the F-Secure site and proceed from there. I've never uysed that particular AV software, so I can't help you any further.

this just keeps on getting weirder, now the problem is gone with no trace of why it happend in first place.
