Loot Drama (WoW)

Well, just came out of a Disasterous Stratholme run. Loot rules stated at the begining were pass on BOP need/greed on whatever, which is standard for High level instances on Moonrunner.

Well, we had a 60 Paladin (let's call him "Rhemik") who was made raid leader because he'd been through Strat a bajillon times. He knew which critters used good drops so he would set to Master looter right before hand, and after the area was cleared we'd work out the need/greed thing.

Well (this was undead Strat) we got to a point with, uh, Generic Banshee Number whatever who dropped an ass load of stuff, but he forgot to switch to master looter. Bear in mind we had all already agreed to to pass on BOP. Well, the Night Elf wonder (who had already started to run around to the supply chests and snatching holy water, then acting surprised when we said you roll for crates. Also, she got pissed when I won a greed roll on bracers with a +31 healing spells. She said she needed them as a Spare, when she had bracers much better) rolled greed, as well as the raid 'Lock ("Cuban"). Naturally, these two wingnuts got 5 BOP stuff divded between them, when everyone else passed.

Myself, Rhemik, Guildie Rogue, got pissed and said a big adios. Cuban and NE("pinkshadow") said ti was a mistake and the rest of the crowd seemed to believe them/or not care.

Now, bearing in mind that this was the first time the actualy "loot" window came up in the instance (Rhemik was MCing the loot up to that point), but knowing that at least one player had shown ninja-looting tendancies, were we in the right to take off leaving the raid fucked? (we started to see them wandering around IF within 5 minutes)

So, you guys got loot stories?

Today I was on a horrible dragon raid. Killed the dragon very quickly but the raid leader didn't have a chat log parser so peoples /random 1000 roll had to be tallied by hand which took forever. It did get settled then someone who claimed to not be good with english started annoying everyone saying he got cheated because his first roll was disqualified for happening before the raid leaders /yell.
There were 2 loot pools, 25 full skill respec stones and 25 realm ability respecs, and the second pool was the equipment drops. With 46 people on the raid, everyone was gurenteed to get atleast one respec stone, the top 24 rollers getting full skill respecs (1 claimed before raid by the leader) and everyone else getting an RA respec. The wierdo (who wasn't even level 50, which is the usual requirement for most raids to roll on respecs) just kept spouting off in barely understandable paragraph long shouts about how everyone was screwing him over even after being told that though his roll didn't count he still got an RA respec and could still roll on the second pool.
Being tired of that, pretty much everyone grabbed thier respec stones and left before the rolling on the the items and remaining stones.

This is why I don't join guilds that recruit.

On a completely unrelated note, I am presently without a guild.

Indeed :D

Anarchy Online, Killing the big dragon under Camalot(Who's name I forget) lots of no-drop no-trade stuff. Meaning you can't sell it, can't trade it.

Mr Dragon drops something for everyone everytime he goes down but only to two proffesion specific nice toys, the rest are godly items any old person can use. I joined up with a Storm (One of the only two major guilds in the game due to AO's low user count, Storm had +300 memebers near or at the level max meaning they just about dominated the PVP and raiding parts.) along with another non Storm memeber. Back in the old looting day AO did not have all these fancy commands they do now. Instead we had to make do with first click, first loot window.

And so when the other memebers watch'd the body disapper as SOMEONE loot'd the whole body(15+ items). That certian other person loot'd two proffession specific item's they could not use, nor sell, nor trade and /log'd on the spot.

Needless to say we were pissed since Mr Dragon is in a PVP zone, requires about twenty people, and could only be killed once per day.

Too many involving PuGs. My fave is still ones with people rolling for friends, and then BITCHING when the raid leader goes, you can't do that. But have had more times where that shit flies and literally why I after getting whatever I needed from PuG, never joined one again.

Guild dramas are nuts, but PuGs are by far worse and stupider for no other reason then "I'm helping a friend!"...yeah, next time, I'll recruit six of mine in a ten man and we'll see who has the super majority on loot, who cares if I can't use it...I'll DE the shit.

All PUG raids I have been on, that have not been free for all on loot rolls, people were allowed to state a toon they were rolling for... if they were not there for something their current toon needed. This meant that people could bring a more useful class to the raid instead of something like an assassin or archer.

Edit: happy now?

yeah I've got few of those stories none that I was involved in though, but what is PUG?

A PUG is a Pick Up Group. Meaning almost any random person you could find, usually you atleast filter by class though.

Ah, the dreaded PuG. Thank the maker I've never had to deal with those on my instance runs, except for below 30.
