SE IV players - Supernova Mod status?

I've checked Malfador, SpaceEmpires.net, the Shrapnel forums, Yahoo, Google, the Wayback Machine, and even a couple of torrent engines, and I haven't found anything, and seeing as how there seems to be a pretty decent-sized player population here...
I recently picked it up from Amazon for a good price, and have had quite a few good runs on it - as Arthur Tuxedo notes, though, you then move on to mods or mod it yourself. Between Malfador and SpaceEmpires.net, I've got at least a good two dozen or so I've nicked, as well as a whole boatload of races and such that I've got to extract.
The problem is, the one mod I really want to get, Supernova, seems to have vanished from all direct existance. Malfador and SpaceEmpires.net still have it listed, and Google and Yahoo still pull it up - but the actual development site itself is gone (interestingly enough, it seems to be the same service Punky Brewster uses for his own site). I get the ads and the redirect, but asides from that, nothing - no ghost on Wayback, no files stored on SpaceEmpires.net, nothing.
So basically, it comes down to this:
A) What happened? Did the developer just decide to up and quit developing and simply not tell anyone about it? Are they on a hiatus for an indefinate period of time? Did the site simply crash and the manager hasn't yet restored it?
B) Are there any copies floating around on some server or crappy little Angelfire/Geocities account, or is it extinct?
