Sorry about this, but we've been having problems with our server host lately (not sure exactly what though, as I've been a little out of the loop with them), so the IP has changed (at least temporarily until we can get the main one back):

We're still a "NO RULES" server (just don't like pesky Kill Tracker spamming so put it to silence if you insist on using one), so come for fun, anyone who wishes. ;)

Say hi to Lath or Cannoli, our regular admins and Razor the creator of OJP mod. Or to our regular veterans like Antilles and Helena.

That's it... enjoy. And sorry about not getting that Episode III mods pack thing done, I just didn't have time, and gave up in the face of other projects. However, I could always organize some links on the downloads page sometime if I feel like it. Basically bring any skins you want to our server, just that you never know if anyone else will be able to see it (I currently only have star wars skins installed on my end). Except for the Jawa... everybody needs to have the Jawa, I insist!

Also, we usually run "Enhanced" (OJP Enhanced mod) on Fridays, though tonight that probably won't happen due to the sudden IP change. So help us test the new saber system and other goodies if you like. OJP basic is classic JA gameplay with numerous fixes and stuff (even new modes like Jedi Master, Holocron, CTY), but the core gameplay remains unchanged (which is what I prefer anyway).

It maps your IP to a subdomain name which gets updated by the server, so you just type the name instead of the IP.

Ok (found their site), $25 a year to never have to tell people about an IP change every so often, hmm...

Of course this has been atypical for us lately anyway, as the hosting service changed the IP then went down for awhile.

We were up for 10 months without a change (the next change was 5 months later, then 3 months, before we had our problem). Then again it would be easier for people to remember. ;) Thanks for the info!

www.dyndns.org is a free service that will allow you to register a domain name and update it as it changes. The issue is that you must install the program on the PC that the IP address is updating on. If you're renting this game server, you may not be able to do this. You can also manually do it through their webpage.

Gaming server IPs don't change that often (if ever). Your best bet would be to create a static DNS entry on a domain name you own. You could create an A record like JAServer.mydomain.com and point it to the IP of the JAServer. If it changes, you just update the A record.

The big question: do you have a domain name, or is this server affilitated enough with SD.net for them to create an A record for you?

PS: do you run any mods on your server? I may be interested in loading up JA for old times sake.

We do run mods, but it's usually a server side only mod that doesn't require download on the part of joiners (OJP Basic). On Friday's we run OJP Enhanced which does require a client download.

It's a rented server, EscapedTurkey.com, which has no connection with SD.net whatsoever (as far as I know). I don't independently own any domain names, in fact.
