Can you give us some sort of context for this error? What are you doing when this happens? Was anything changed (new hardware, newly installed software, driver update, etc.) prior to this error occurring? Have you tried anything yet?

The McAfee errors shouldn't be a problem anymore, I re-installed it.

After 5 MBR restores no more errors are popping up, for now.

Sounds like McAfee shit the bed and hosed Windows something fierce. Hooray for crappy anti-virus programs!

Okay, I've run Memtest....

After 22 Passes, 5,535 Errors were discovered.

What are my options?

My RAM module is a DDR 333 1GB module I got at
http://parts.emachines.com/emachines/mo ... t_id=69179

I purchased it three months ago, why is it F**ked up now? And is it a $150 paperweight?

My mother's computer recently developed a bad stick of RAM as well. Weird.

One common possibility is if you don't have a surge protector or (even better) an UPS is that your electricity had a spike which fried it. Without a UPS something similar can happen do to those 1sec or less outages. Altough that sort of stuff usualy causes the motherboard plus other components to fry rather then just the RAM.

Some sort of overheating is another possible cause.

Then again, you could have just gotten lucky and got a component that died all on its own during regular usage. It happens.
