They released a video (high, low quality), and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I tried the mod out back when it was for bf1942 and it was a pretty neat concept; c&c style base building/unit building, but commanding people. Sorta like NS, but definatly had more of an RTS feel. Sadly the bf1942 incarnation was pretty buggy and wierd.
This however looks pretty sweet. Base building looks well done, research looks good. The "commander" looks like he'll have his hands full, as you would expect in any RTS, customizable vehicle configs, etc. All sweet.
I like the walls, they're not exactly Tiberian Sun walls (I wholly enjoyed base making in that game, minus the pavement), but generally it looks very well done.
As for the FPS aspect, it looks equally cool, vehicles seem powerful, though infantry with cover seem to survive pretty well. I noticed a lot of good stuff from BF2 in there, Squads, spawn point choosing, quick alerts which appear on the map.
All in all, it looks like it's going to be a really fun mod. I gota say from the pictures I was very surprised at how well everything *appeared* to work. I was checking over the Empires Website, and I gota say, there looks to be a hell of a lot of content to this mod, I'm really looking forward to it.
