Weird browser statistics...

Post by Praxis »

So I'm checking our viewer's browser statistics for NintendoPlayers.com and I hit something weird.

Here's our top five browsers.

Browser Type Number of requests
1. Mozilla 330,790
2. MSIE 247,778
3. Opera 36,056
4. msnbot 7,185
5. Netscape (compatible) 5,620

As I keep going down, I get to the bottom of the list.

17. psbot 59
18. I am using a browser and OS so new and innovative that you will never have heard of it. If I told you what it is, it would only be a tease. 43
19. WebTV 37
20. N900iS DoCoMo 33

Notice number 18.

Anyone have any idea what browser that is?

Also, I feel sorry for the 37 WebTV viewers.

My guess is it's a brower identification extension for Firefox or some other browser.

Could be Konquerer or Lynx or Telnet or any number of the other browsers out there.

Yeah, why not?

It's just someone who modified their browser identification, either with their browser, or an external program like Proxomitron.
